Pinhole Surgical Technique - Kennewick, WA

Minimally Invasive Treatment for Receding Gums

Understanding Gum Recession

Gum recession is one of the side effects of gum disease, but may also be the result of using the wrong tooth brushing technique, insufficient preventive care, and teeth grinding or clenching habits. If you have a misaligned bite or any type of piercings around the mouth, you may be a good candidate for gum recession treatment. We may recommend the Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST™) to treat receding gums without surgery and enhance your smile.

Gum Recession Risk Factors

  • Overaggressive brushing or flossing
  • Poor oral hygiene
  • Tobacco use
  • Untreated periodontal disease
  • Genetic predisposition
  • Oral piercings

Many Patients Procrastinate To Treat Gum Recession From Fear Of Pain and Long Downtimes
The Pinhole Technique changes everything!

How the Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST™) Works

The Pinhole Surgical Technique is a minimally-invasive procedure that can effectively restore your gum line without any cutting of the gum tissues or sutures. We use existing gum tissue to treat areas with gum recession. We can even treat multiple teeth in a single visit. The procedure involves making a small hole with special instruments to loosen some of the existing gum tissue and move it over the areas where the gums have receded. There is little to no bleeding, pain, and swelling involved and you can enjoy immediate cosmetic benefits.

The Benefits of PST™

PST™ is one of the latest advances in dentistry and was developed and patented by a dentist. It is an attractive alternative to traditional gum surgery for patients that may have busy schedules and those who are fearful about undergoing extensive surgery. Some of the biggest benefits of this procedure include:
